MSc Student, Co-Supervisor: Dr. Steven Cooke

Sept 2020 – present

I am thankful for the opportunity to pursue an MSc within the Faculty of Biology at Carleton University, co-supervised by Dr. Cooke and Dr. Nguyen. Upon graduating from the University of Guelph in 2020, I moved out West to work alongside Takla First Nation in northern British Columbia. I am interested in working with and learning from Indigenous people and their stewardship of the earth. This MSc project will explore the unique perspectives of fishery professionals who work for Indigenous governments, identifying opportunities by which to embrace and strengthen meaningful collaboration. This research will contribute towards a larger 3I: Indigenous Input & Inclusion Project, which focuses on inclusivity and collaboration in sea lamprey management across the Great Lakes.
