Caraline Billotte

MSc Student

Sept 2024 – present

Caraline (she/her) is doing her MSc in Biological Sciences at Carleton University, supervised by Dr. Vivian Nguyen and co-supervised by Dr. Steven Cooke. Before her MSc, Caraline researched the relationship between brain region volume and foraging behaviour in a stream fish species and participated in science communication initiatives in her spare time. She then uncovered the values of intersecting sociological applications to scientific research. Her current thesis explores how various socio-economic and psychological factors influence individual behaviour and motivations towards lake stewardship. Caraline’s research interests encompass science communication, wildlife conservation, and human-environment interactions. She is very excited for the opportunity to be conducting interdisciplinary work and hopes to create accessible mediums for her research.
