As a postdoctoral fellow at the Great Lakes Fishery Commission, I am advised by Dr. Vivian Nguyen and work with Dr. Marc Gaden of the Great Lakes Fishery Commission and Dr. Richard Stedman with Cornell University. We are assessing human dimensions of fisheries research regional priorities and advancing community-based research with recreational and provisioning fisheries and fish consumers in the Eastern Great Lakes. I am an environmental scientist who uses mixed, community-based methods to study One Health and social-ecological systems questions in wild food use, livelihoods, and health currently in the Laurentian Great Lakes and previously in East African drylands. My research interests centre around environmental health risks, for example contaminants or zoonotic diseases, and benefits, like nutrition or cultural practices, as an operational intersection of human well-being with social-ecological systems.
