Jessica Puistonen is doing her MSc in Biology at Carleton University, supervised by Dr. Vivian Nguyen and Dr. Rachel Buxton. Her thesis explores the co-benefits of urban greening initiatives in Ottawa, with a focus on impacts for community resilience. Before beginning her MSc, Jessica pursued her interests in Biology and Philosophy through completing her undergraduate degree at Queen’s University. She is a believer in the importance of community-based knowledge and interdisciplinary research and is passionate about science communication and knowledge accessibility. Through her research, Jessica hopes to contribute to creating feasible solutions for conservation issues that support people’s well-being.
