Sept 2020 – present
I am a biologist passionate about northern and remote environments. During the past seven years, I had the opportunity to contribute to various research projects on Arctic seabirds as a research assistant for Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC). What excites me the most about ecological research in the Arctic is the collaborative aspects of it and the opportunity it provides to work in partnership with government, academic, and Inuit researchers. For my master’s research project, I am co-supervised by Dr. Vivian Nguyen at Carleton University and Dr. Grant Gilchrist at ECCC. I am studying Hudson Bay eider duck demography and distribution, as well as the lessons learned from this collaborative environmental monitoring between ECCC and Inuit communities.
